Curbside Pickup beginning June 2, 2020.

Dear Stamford Community,

While the Stamford Community Library must remain closed to the public for now, we have begun to offer curbside pickup service to our community.  If you would like books for yourselves or your kids during the summer, we are here to help.

To make curbside pickup as accessible as possible we are offering multiple ways to take advantage of this service.  To access our online catalog, click here.  Once you know what books you’d like to check out you can contact the library either fill out the 'Contact Us' form here, email us at, or call/text the library at

413-663-1414, Tuesdays/Thursdays 10 am-5 pm.  Please include your name and preferred contact information so that we can let you know when your materials are ready to be picked up.

If you would like to have the librarian choose books for you, or put together a kids' grab bag, just let us know what type of books most interest you (fiction, non-fiction, mysteries, graphic novels, young adult books, juvenile fiction, early readers, picture books, etc) and we'll do our best to send a good selection.

In good weather we will provide no-contact pickup.  Books will be checked out to your account, bagged, labeled, and placed on a book cart outside the library.  We will be taking every precaution to protect the health and safety or our community when handling books and we ask that you do the same when you come to pick up your orders.  Please practice safe social distancing by keeping at least 6 feet of distance between yourselves and others.  In rainy weather we will ask that you call from the parking lot and we will bring your books out to your car.

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, all returned materials will be quarantined for at least 72 hours before returning to regular circulation.  Please return books to the book drop (next to the bench in the front lobby) Monday-Friday 9 am-3 pm, or bag them and place them on the bottom shelf of the curbside pickup book cart outside of the library Tuesday or Thursday 10 am-5 pm.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions. We look forward to serving you.
